Thanks Phalanges,
Ive really enjoyed all your clips (watched them all Very Happy )!! Yes this Amp isnt as much of a Dumble type Clone although it can aproach that type of sound. It really has a very Classic sound kind of like a Fender on a overdose of steriods and can also get quite Marshall like. Hard to pin a comparrision Amp real has its own unique quality. There are so many different type tones in it, You could put up 30 clips up and still have a bucket more.

Just put in 2 Celestion Golds in my 2x12 and oh my gosh what a difference. The Golds are just amazing sounding right out the box...just let them hum in for a half hour. I can tell i have messed with tube brands and this and thats but going from a G12 heritage and Anniversary to the golds was huge!! Very Happy

I haven't tried the smoked glass 6L6's.

I'll be interested in your opinion.

On my 50 watter I lucked into a pair of RCA blackplate 6L6's when a friend gave me a box full of old tubes.
I don't have a tester other than my amp but what I am hearing is tonal bliss from these tubes.

If I'm not mistaken. those are 6v6's and Black3's 44 is a quad 6v6 amp.
Those look very mojo.

Arrg, you're right, I didn't look at them close enough.
I guess since he is building a 44 I assumed they were 6L6.

I Have not tried 6L6's yet ..this Amp can actually go ethier way but the 4x 6v6 tubes are so nice I just stayed with those. It seems to be the most prefered combo with this amp. These tubes are the WWII RCA VT-107-A that are dated 1942 through 1944...Ill throw clip up when they come it will be these tubes and the 2x12 Celestion AlNico Golds (which are amazing ...best speaker I have ever used) if ya really want a nice set of speakers these are awesome but come with a big cash tag ($550+ for a set depending were you get them)..but if you are building a Botique style amp ...go for the gusto Very Happy

In all honesty I played them for the last several months and....went back to the Tung Sol re-issues..The fresh Tung Sols are just much more shimmery with alot of nice Harmonic to them...
